Our Treatment Approach
We treat patients by needling points on the extremities. There are literally hundreds of acupuncture points on the body, and because acupuncture is such a flexible treatment modality, we can treat any condition by utilizing points on the head and neck, lower arms and legs, and hands and feet. Sometimes we’ll place needles near a painful or problematic area, but not always. For example, if you are experiencing back or hip pain, we can treat you by accessing points in the hands and feet; if you’re suffering from TMJ, we might place needles around the jaw.
Every acupuncturist’s technique is a little different, and the points we choose will vary based on what you tell us and who’s treating you. We work hard to ensure our patients are comfortable during the treatment process, and our approach makes it easy for us to treat you while relaxing in a recliner in our community room alongside other patients.
The Treatment Experience
New Patient Consultation
If you’re new to Encircle, we’ll start with a New Patient consultation. One of our acupuncturists will discuss your chief complaints, walk you through our process and develop a treatment plan based on your unique health needs. The treatment plan we recommend will be based on our experience with treating different kinds of conditions. Almost all of our patients require a course of treatment, rather than a single treatment, to get the most out of acupuncture.
Check-In
When you come to our clinic, your treatment begins the moment you walk in the door. One of our friendly team members will greet you, take your payment, and answer any questions you have.
Treatment
When it is time for your treatment, you will go to our community room and select any open recliner. Take your shoes and socks off, roll up your sleeves and pant legs, and get comfortable! Your acupuncturist will feel your pulse, and then place a few needles in your head, arms and legs. The whole process only takes a few minutes. Once all the needles are in, you’ll rest anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. It’s up to you!
Health and Safety Precautions
We take the health and safety of Encircle’s patients and staff seriously. Face masks are optional for patients and staff. If you prefer to have your acupuncturist wear a mask while treating you, we are happy to accommodate that request. Just let us know. If you have a cough, please wear a face mask at the clinic to prevent the potential spread of infectious droplets. We ask that you please not come in for treatment if you have a fever of 100 degrees or higher; have an active respiratory infection; or have tested positive for covid or flu within the last five (5) days.
We appreciate your help in providing the safest environment possible for everyone who visits the clinic.
