Our Story

Encircle Acupuncture began with a simple mission: to make acupuncture affordable and accessible for more people.

our story

What if more people could afford acupuncture?

Encircle Acupuncture began with a simple question: what if more people could get the care they need?

Our founder, Alexa Hulsey, saw that traditional acupuncture clinics were financially out of reach for many people — including her own friends.

So in 2010, she opened Nashville’s first community acupuncture clinic, East Nashville Community Acupuncture, with the goal of making high-quality, affordable acupuncture available to everyone.

In 2019, we became Encircle Acupuncture. What started as one small clinic has grown into two welcoming locations, a team of compassionate acupuncturists, and thousands of patients served.

Even as we’ve grown, we’ve stayed true to our roots: offering affordable care in a comfortable community setting, and treating every person with kindness, respect, and compassion.

We’re honored to be part of so many healing stories — and grateful to be part of yours.

our story

Rooted in Community Since 2010

Since 2010, we’ve helped thousands of people in Nashville and Middle Tennessee find relief from pain, stress, anxiety, and other health concerns.

We’re proud to be Nashville’s oldest and largest community acupuncture clinic, and we remain deeply committed to making care accessible, affordable, and welcoming for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does your sliding scale work?

You’ll pay $50 for your first visit, and after that, you decide how much you want to pay along the sliding scale ($25-$50) for each subsequent treatment. When you check in for an appointment, a receptionist will ask you how much you’d like to pay. The amount you pay is entirely up to you. We don’t have income guidelines or ask for any verification, and you don’t have to pay the same amount every time. Our sliding scale exists to make acupuncture affordable and give you choice and flexibility in how you pay for healthcare.

Not at all! Acupuncture works whether or not you “believe” in it. It’s based on time-tested principles and modern research shows its effectiveness for a wide range of conditions. Just come with an open mind and let your body do the rest.

For many people, community acupuncture feels surprisingly comfortable and relaxing. Treatments take place in a quiet shared room, where patients rest in comfortable recliners during their session. Our community model allows us to keep treatments affordable while creating a calming, supportive environment for healing.
